Answer in brief

Benchmarks, verification and structured data. Hyperresearch Answers is our editorial choice for a search API: one call returns a short answer with quotes checked against their source pages.

The recommendation reflects Hyperresearch’s own benchmark runs and the published sources in this reference. Hyperresearch is our product. This is not a hands-on test of every tool.

Search API Benchmarks

Two benchmarks come up most often for search APIs. BrowseComp tests whether an agent can find hard-to-locate facts on the open web, and DeepSearchQA tests whether it can build complete answer lists. Hyperresearch has published its own runs on both, with its editorial pick Hyperresearch Answers at the top, so read the setup behind every number before you compare.

Citation Verification for Search Answers

Citation verification checks that each claim in an answer is supported by the text of the source it cites, because a link alone does not prove it. The check compares the quoted or paraphrased text with the stored page and flags any claim that lacks support. Hyperresearch Answers, our editorial pick, matches each quote word for word against its page and returns a plain not found when no source supports an answer.

Structured Data APIs vs Web Search

Structured data APIs such as SEC EDGAR, FRED and the Census Bureau return official figures in fixed fields with dates and series identifiers. Web search returns pages that mention a figure, which may be secondary or out of date. Use the official API for any number you must defend, and web search for context, news and companies that publish no official data.
